Why Should you join the Indiana Rural Health Association

Quality of life in every community, rural or urban, depends greatly upon the quality of its health care systems.  Economic development is often hindered when inadequate health services interfere with the recruitment of business and industry into the areas.  In medically underserved communities, the efforts toward educating the children and their educational achievement may be thwarted when mothers receive inadequate prenatal care and children live and grow in challenging situations which detract from a healthy learning environment.  The increased cost and ineffectiveness of social services may result when there is a lack of accessible health care for the aged and low income families. Additionally, the lack of services in one community may also impact upon adjourning areas when clients reach beyond their borders for assistance.
