General information to submit a poster presentation for display during the IRHA 2013 Annual Conference:
August 7-8, 2013
You must complete an on-line application to submit a poster for presentation. Application link is above.
All poster presentations need to be submitted to Laura Carlson email@example.com as a Power Point presentation with voice over recording. IRHA is no longer hosting a paper & cardboard poster contest; all poster presentations must be in a Power Point format.
There is a limit on the amount of slides and time allowed with the presentation.
Maximum slides allowed - 10 slides
Maximum time limit of presentation- 10 minutes
Deadline to submit your poster presentation for judging is June 14, 2013. Poster presentations received after June 14, 2013 will not be submitted for judging in the student contest.
You do not have to attend the IRHA Annual conference to submit a poster presentation. If you plan to be in attendance you must register for the conference. Submitting a poster presentation does not register you to attend the conference, meals or activities. If you are a student, you can apply for a scholarship to have your registration paid. If you are not a student, you will have to purchase a registration to attend. You can register on the Annual Conference home page above.
To be eligible to enter in the Undergraduate or Graduate/Resident category all authors (primary & co-authors) must be at least a part time student. If any of the authors are not a student you must submit the poster in the Independent category. Judges have, and will, disqualify a poster submitted in the Undergraduate or Graduate/Resident categories if an author, or co-author, is not a student.
Non-students may also submit a poster presentation. However, non-student presentations are entered into the "independent" category and are not judged or eligible to win a monetary award.
Judging of the student poster presentations will take place before the Annual Conference. Poster Presentations will be forwarded to the judges as they are received and will be posted on the IRHA website for general viewing after the June 14th deadline for submission. Winners will be announced on August 7, during the general membership meeting at the IRHA Annual Conference. You do not have to be present to win; checks will be mailed out to the winners after the Conference. Checks will be mailed to the address provided on the poster submission application form unless requested otherwise.
The poster presentations will be posted on the IRHA website for viewing and played on a continuous loop on a closed circuit television during the Annual Conference.
All copyright laws must be obeyed. The Indiana Rural Health Association is not responsible for individuals who violate copyright material. Any material found to be in violation of a copyright law will be removed from the IRHA website and the individual will be banned from submitting future material to IRHA.
