About the InSRHN:
The Indiana Statewide Rural Health Network (InSRHN) was developed through the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA) as a result of a three year HRSA network development grant award (D06RH08997-02-00) received in May 2008 from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP) for the development of a statewide rural health network in Indiana. The InSRHN is designed to improve the financial viability and sustainability of rural health care providers in Indiana. All of the strategies of the network are aimed toward Indiana's rural health providers to meet the health care needs of communities.
Mission Statement of the InSRHN:
The Mission of InSRHN is to create a network of rural providers dedicated to improving their ability to deliver high-quality health care to rural residents.
Purpose of the InSRHN:
To provide support to rural entities in the development of formal health care networks in order to coordinate; improve and expand access to quality essential health care services; and enhance the delivery of health care in rural areas.
Value to Membership:
InSRHN Network Strives to:
- Cultivate new and existing relationships with rural partners
- Facilitate stronger collaborative statewide relationships between CAHs and rural hospitals in order to better serve Indiana's rural communities
- Effectively share resources and knowledge
- Reduce the sense of geographic isolation faced by rural administration and staff
- Increase pooling of resources
- Decrease duplicative services and technology
- Identify rural appropriate best practices
- Decrease purchasing expenses by leveraging buying power
- Develop network infrastructure support/tools
- Facilitate peer learning and mentoring
InSRHN Membership includes:
- Participation in statewide roundtable peer discussion groups:
- Provides value in collaboration between Indiana hospital peers (CEO, CFO, Nurse Executives, HR, IT Directors, and Purchasing Directors)
- Provides access to peer groups within Indiana and other states
- Scheduled meeting times and places to collaborate and discuss efficiency of operations, best practices, issues, obstacles, improvement, trends, etc. for statewide peer groups of hospital staff
- Ability to discuss hospital needs in a collaborative environment and use the outcomes to influence the direction of future network activities
- Staff expertise in accessing state resources and alternative funding sources
- Access to educational offerings free or at a minimal cost
- Access to rural network web site for participation in CEO Forums, job postings etc...
