TERRE HAUTE, Indiana - The Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA) is excited to announce that Access Physicians, one of the nation’s leading providers of inpatient, multispecialty telemedicine, has joined our Business Partner Network.

The partnership will support Indiana’s rural hospitals in their work to address physician shortages and support the critical clinical service line needs, while also reducing the cost of physician coverage and improving access to care, clinical outcomes, and financial performance.

“A service like what Access Physicians can provide can be very valuable to rural hospitals,” said IRHA CEO, Cara Veale, DHS, OTR, FACHE. “It opens up access to specialists that rural hospitals may not otherwise have the ability to recruit or staff at their facilities. This certainly falls in line with the mission of IRHA. We want to be sure Hoosiers can get access to the primary and specialty care they need to remain healthy.”

Each Indiana rural hospital and the community it serves are unique. With this partnership, Indiana’s rural hospitals will have a vetted solution to the often-intractable problem of building a cost-effective, high quality specialty service line. Access Physicians brings both an experienced physician network and a strong business development strategy to the implementation of appropriate telemedicine solutions that help each hospital address its unique needs, challenges, and opportunities.

“As a multispecialty physician group first and foremost, we are proud to partner with IRHA to create scalable clinical programs for every rural hospital in Indiana, customized to the healthcare system and the communities they serve,” said Access Physicians CEO, Chris Gallagher, M.D., FACC. “Through this collaboration, we will leverage telemedicine to systematically improve and broaden care offered in local hospitals, so patients and clinician care teams get the support they need, when they need it, in their own community.”

The IRHA created the Business Partner Network to support our members by providing access to healthcare resources with trusted experts in the field who can help sustain and grow operations in these complex times.
