Ann McCafferty, a lifetime Hoosier, has worked in healthcare for over twenty years. She was self-employed as an independent medical transcriptionist and proofreading specialist, as well as owner, operator and manager of Quality Transcription Services before settling into a position with a federally qualified healthcare clinic for over six years. Developing an intense compassion for those facing barriers in regard to healthcare and a better quality of life, she shifted her focus to community advocacy. She completed the requirements to become a licensed Indiana Navigator and a Federally Facilitated Marketplace Certified Application Counselor. She accepted a position as a Health and Outreach Advocate, assisting patients with state and federal program eligibility, access to community resources, and prescription affordability assistance. Ann joins IRHA as a Grant Coordinator and Indiana Navigator for Connecting Kids to Coverage-Indiana, assisting Hoosier families navigate through the enrollment and redetermination process for the Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Healthwise. Ann also volunteers as a certified SHIP counselor offering assistance for Medicare beneficiaries and enrollees.
