Deena Dodd is the Director of Government Relations & Business Development for the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA). In her role, Deena works with hospitals participating in Accountable Care Organizations, ACO, and she also serves as a registered lobbyist and supports the efforts of various programs within IRHA. Deena has been with IRHA for the past eight years. She is a passionate advocate for rural health providers, facilities, communities and the constituents that reside in them.
Deena’s main goal is to make sure that rural communities have a voice at every table, and to make sure that those serving rural are up to date on the ever-changing policies around healthcare. She believes it is imperative to empower rural economic development organizations as well as rural constituents to the ever-changing landscape of healthcare.
Deena serves on the Community Executive Board of the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, Community Health Engagement Program (CTSI CHEP). Deena has previously served on the National Board of Directors for the National Cooperative of Health Care Networks (NCHN). Deena is a graduate of the 2013 -14 Lugar Series for Excellence in Public Service Series.
Prior to her time with the IRHA, Deena spent many years working in Indiana Critical Access and Rural PPS hospitals as a surgical technologist. After a few too many late nights in the OR, she moved on to provide nationwide recruitment services of nurse, physician, and C-suite personnel.
Deena has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Governor’s University and an Associate of Science in Surgical Technology from Ivy Tech Community College.
Deena resides in Tipton, IN and is a dog mom to Max and Mabel her English Mastiffs; she rides a 2015 Harley Davidson. In addition, she has a 24 yo daughter, Courtney, who works in urban healthcare thus dinner is never without lots of good healthcare conversation.
