Nicole Watkins, MPH

Rural Health Clinic Network Director

Nicole Watkins is the Rural Health Clinic Network Director at the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA). Mrs. Watkins began her career in healthcare in 2013 working in Corporate Compliance. She graduated in 2017 from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration with a minor in Business Administration and a Medical Sales certificate. In early 2018, she moved to the Richard G. Lugar Center for Rural Health (Lugar Center) as a Project Associate and was later promoted to a Project Manager. She continued her education by earning a Master of Public Health degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2019. In Fall 2020, she began working for the Indiana Rural Health Association.

During her time at the Lugar Center, she gained experience writing, managing, implementing and evaluating grant programs. She worked closely with the health system’s rural health clinics and was greatly involved with quality measure tracking and reporting. Growing up surrounded by rural Indiana, Mrs. Watkins has a true appreciation for rural Indiana’s beauty and challenges.
