Tina Elliott was one of the first two hired employees of the Indiana Rural Health Association in 2001. Since that time, she has been the Education Coordinator, Assistant Director, and is currently the Community Relations Director. In that capacity, Elliott assists the Association with building and strengthening its relationships with partner organizations locally, regionally, and nationally. She is a member of the following committees: Indiana State Health Commissioner’s Public Health Workforce Committee; Indiana State Health Improvement Plan; Rural Health Innovation Collaborative Communications Committee and Healthy People 2020 Ad Hoc Committee; Covering Kids & Families Indiana Board Member; Indiana State University’s Recruitment and Retention Committee; Indiana Coalition for Smokefree Air; Indiana Diabetes and Cardiovascular Coalition Board Member and Resource Development Co-chairperson; Indiana Immunization Coalition Board Member and Treasurer; National Rural Health Association’s Finance Committee and Communications Committee; Indiana Rural Health Admissions Committee for Indiana University School of Medicine; Indiana Oral Health Task Force; Indiana Area Health Education Centers Board Member (current President and served as Chair of the Board Development Committee); Indiana Action Coalition; Indiana Youth Institute, Wabash Valley Health Center Board Member and Secretary/Treasurer; Service League of Union Hospital, with over 10,000 hours of volunteer service (served as Treasurer and Secretary); volunteer tutor for elementary, middle, high school, and college students; Catechist, St. Benedict Youth Group, Terre Haute, IN. Elliott graduated from Indiana State University with a B.S. in Business Management and minor studies in Math and Computer Science. Elliott is passionate about her role with Indiana Rural Health Association and tobacco cessation efforts throughout the state. She is an exercise enthusiast and loves golfing, swimming, walking, and biking. She has been married for 39 years, and they have three grown children and four grandchildren.
