Info about this track:
Our organizations, our communities, and our planet are facing unprecedented challenges – challenges that will not be solved by a small group of people from a single entity. Today’s leaders need a new mindset and skillset designed to harness the power of collaborative networks. These networks span the boundaries that are holding us back: organizational boundaries, political boundaries, disciplinary boundaries, and ideological boundaries. The Purdue Agile Strategy Lab, housed with the Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation in the
Purdue Polytechnic Institute, offers Agile Leadership, a powerful, interactive learning experience for organizational leaders. The content is based on the book, Strategic Doing: Ten Skills for Agile Leadership (Wiley, 2019). The book debuted as a #1 New Release on Amazon.
This half-day training is supported by the Purdue Healthcare Advisors’ Empowered Communities Initiative. Workshop participants get an overview of the Strategic Doing discipline and then take a deep dive into learning about and experimenting with three of the ten “Skills for Agile Leadership.” Each participant will receive a copy of the book as well as a copy of The Agile Leadership Workbook. Participants will gain skills and insights they can put to work right away to help them more effectively design and guide collaborative efforts to address complex
challenges. This training will be of benefit for anyone working for organizations and in communities dealing with complex challenges like those associated with Substance Use Disorder. The workshop will be led by Dr. Scott Hutcheson, a Senior Lecturer of Organizational Leadership in Purdue’s Department of Technology, Leadership, and Innovation and Director of the Purdue Agile Strategy Lab. Scott has led over 500 workshops for organizations and communities both in the U.S. and nationally
