Director of Government Affairs

Dan Hardesty, MPA, serves as the Director of Government Affairs for the Indiana Rural Health Association. Mr. Hardesty’s passion is to improve the status of rural communities by advocating for an emphasis on rural health. Before joining the IRHA, he worked at the Richard G. Lugar Center for Rural Health on projects aimed at training the next generation of healthcare providers in geriatric and behavioral health modalities, implementing new telehealth strategies, addressing infant mortality with high-risk rural Hoosiers, and has co-authored multiple published articles in peer-reviewed journals on the efficiency and efficacy of Telehealth for rural access sites.

Dan also serves as the compliance officer for the Indiana Rural Health Association and works with his colleagues to ensure IRHA remains compliant with necessary regulations.

Dan lives and raises his three children with his wife in Parke County, Indiana, and serves on the board of his church.
