Outreach and Enrollment: Healthcare Coverage for Children and Adults

Serving Indiana residents ages 0-64

INDIANA HEALTHY FAMILIES ALLIANCE (IHFA)  is a statewide outreach and enrollment initiative with a primary goal to reach families with information about the health insurance coverage available under Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The Indiana Healthy Families Alliance program works with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and others to ensure no eligible child goes uninsured. IHFA is led by the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA) and administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

IHFA provides support to uninsured families in order to increase access to quality, affordable healthcare by providing free one-on-one healthcare enrollment assistance. The Indiana Healthy Families Alliance team knows how important health insurance is to families and our Outreach and Enrollment Team is here to serve you and ensure all Hoosier families have access to affordable healthcare. Our team consists of licensed Indiana Navigators, Certified Application Counselors, and Community Health Workers.

IHFA, with our regional partners around the state, works to identify and reach out to uninsured families with enrolling in Indiana Medicaid programs including Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan.

Our objective is to let families know who is eligible, what benefits are available, how to apply for coverage, understand coverage and how to use it, as well as offer, continued support to maintain coverage.  

Our IHFA team is ready to assist with the following:

• Education about the health insurance program you and your family may qualify for

• Enrollment application assistance

• Troubleshoot application issues

• Help you understand your benefits and how to use them

• Answer questions about coverage options, especially Hoosier Healthwise, and the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP)

• Specialized referrals
