Indiana Graduate Medical Education Technical Assistance Center
Indiana GME Technical Assistance Center
Strengthening rural physician training and building Indiana's physician workforce.
The Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA) has been selected by the Indiana Department of Health to establish and operate the Indiana Rural Graduate Medical Education (GME) Technical Assistance Center, a statewide resource designed to expand physician training opportunities and strengthen the healthcare workforce in rural Indiana communities.
The Technical Assistance Center will serve existing and prospective rural GME programs, potential rural training sites and state partners supporting rural physician workforce development. Rural organizations, particularly those located in designated Health Professional Shortage Areas, will receive priority for technical assistance. The center’s assistance will be advisory and tailored to each organization’s needs and stage of development. Participating organizations will remain responsible for their operational, accreditation, financial, legal, curriculum, employment and compliance decisions.
Information about Indiana’s Rural Health Transformation Program is available through the Indiana GROW Rural Health website.
