National Rural Health Day

November 21st is National Rural Health Day
and we at IRHA plan to celebrate our great Hoosier rural communities!

One celebration will be the gathering of Indiana Critical Access Hospitals, Rural Health Clinics, and rural hospitals on November 21st for our Rural Summit event.

Highlighting this event is nationally recognized and audience favorite, Brian Lee, CSP. Brian has been a featured speaker at many IRHA events as well as other healthcare events around the nation. He is consistently one of the highest rated speakers by attendees for his exceptionally effective training on improving the patient experience, leadership, and organizational effectiveness. Brian will challenge us with his session titled “Create a Sustainable Culture of Patient Relationship Experts” and another titled “Rural Hospital Renaissance”.

Also participating will be officials from CMS, however, they are not coming to speak to us, they want to hear from us. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback to CMS.  What can they do to better serve rural Indiana? We are proud to provide the platform for rural health leaders to collaborate with CMS.

Another member favorite is Brock Slabach, Senior VP at NRHA. Brock will share updated information on what is happening at the national level in rural health. In addition, our own Cody Mullen, Ph.D. will be joined by Hannah Maxey, PhD, MPH, RDH, Assistant Professor, Department of Family Medicine, IU School of Medicine; and Director, Bowen Center for Health Workforce Research and Policy to present on a research project regarding how the local economy suffers when the local hospital discontinues delivering babies.

Watch our social media pages for a special campaign with messages from IRHA staff, board members, and other Indiana rural health leaders about why rural health is important to them. Be sure to follow our pages listed below and join in on the fun!
