Rural Indiana Connections to Healthcare

The Rural Indiana Connections to Healthcare (RICH) program, funded by MHS and Centene Foundation, is a mobile integrated health program aimed at improving maternal and infant health outcomes in Lawrence and Orange Counties.

Mission: Unite a network of rural healthcare providers to collaboratively develop innovative solutions that transcend traditional healthcare to ensure healthcare services are available to Hoosiers regardless of their location or circumstance.

Vision: Foster collaboration among rural healthcare providers to unite diverse expertise and innovative approaches, in which our aim is to create and implement solutions that break down barriers, enabling comprehensive and accessible healthcare delivery throughout rural Indiana.

RICH Goals -

  1. Establish a strategic plan for a Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) network resulting in the implementation of a comprehensive Community Paramedicine (CP) program where CPs will serve as physician extenders to provide the most current standard of care to patients outside of a traditional clinical setting.
  2. Address healthcare needs and ensure healthcare services are available to residents, including coordinating services, holding networking planning meetings, identifying additional collaborative partners, and connecting with stakeholders to educate on the healthcare gaps.
  3. Implement solutions to barriers that exist in the county(ies)’s healthcare environment, such as limited transportation, high emergency department utilization, and access to providers.
